This year, Broomfield Percussion will return to the WGI Percussion World Championship in Dayton, Ohio for the second year in a row. In addition, the ensemble will appear in the WGI Denver Regional, the RMPA Championships, and many local contests.
This year's production, In Motion, will explore Sir Isaac Newton's laws of motion, which are the basis of classical mechanics. Featuring original music composed by Dave Marvin, the ensemble will present exciting, kinetic depictions of inertia, acceleration, and reciprocal actions.

Saturday night, the Broomfield High School Percussion Ensemble was crowned as 2008 RMPA Champions, repeating the feat that the ensemble achieved a year prior.
Exiting the prelims with a scant .1 point lead over second place Longmont, the ensemble had a terrific showing in Finals, opening the lead up to .3 points and achieving a Box 6 score in visual composition from judge Jim Dwyer. The 9.8 out of 10 possible points marks the highest subcaption score in school history, and the first time Broomfield has achieved a Box 6 designation in any caption.
The ensemble has little time to celebrate, however, as they prepare to leave for Dayton, Ohio to compete for the second straight year at the WGI World Championships next week.
